For Strays, Universal needed to let the dogs out—literally. With a raunchy, R-rated comedy full of foul-mouthed furballs and chaotic canine energy, the studio came to MediaNug for trailer recuts that would bark louder (and land harder) on social. The assignment: turn the theatrical trailer into scroll-stopping, doggone unhinged content that made viewers do a double take and maybe question their pet’s inner thoughts.
Solution
MediaNug crafted a series of trailer recuts specifically designed for social platforms—trimming the fluff, amping the absurdity, and front-loading the dirtiest jokes (you’re welcome, algorithm). We played with pacing, sound design, and comedic timing to make each cut feel like a standalone sketch. The result? Maximum bark, no leash. Universal x MediaNug turned this wild dog comedy into a social beast—and proved that even trailer content can go feral in the best way.
